Thought Storm, an outdoor site-inspired installation composed of 12 painted resin biomorphic sculptures, was created during an artist-in-residence at the acclaimed Escape to Create program in February of 2017. E2C, a community-based artist residency dedicated to supporting distinguished artists since 1993, hosted Modrak as part of their 25th anniversary.

Thought Storm is a reflection of the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Florida Panhandle, drawing inspiration from the live oaks, ground bees, yellow finches, and coastal dunes of the area. It also honors the community spirit of fellow E2C residents and board members.

This installation continues investigations begun in earlier works such as Dendrites and Vital Memories which reimagine neurons and dendrites as a means of decoding our internal physiological and emotive worlds. Unveiled at various Seaside locations, including Central Beach and The Lyceum, this figurative installation symbolizes a deep connection to the local environment and community.

Public eco-inspired artworks: Endangered Fossils II (2021+) is currently on view at West Creek Park in Santa Clarita, CA, as part of the City Public Art Collection.

Cartographies of the Mind (2019+)  a participatory neuroscience artwork with an emphasis on the climate crisis.
